Juniper Networks announces plans to acquire 128 Technology for $450 million
Juniper Networks, one of the leaders on the forefront of AI-driven network, has recently announced the definitive agreement to acquire 128 Technology for $450 million in Juniper Network’s fiscal fourth quarter, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. 128 Technology’s Session Smart™ networking will enhance Juniper’s AI-driven enterprise network portfolio, with the two uniting to provide exceptional solutions powered by Mist AI.
The Juniper portfolio will also help cut IT costs significantly, providing network automation, client-level insight, and lesser network overhead while it delivers exceptional collaboration applications, voice over IP user experience, and 5G. The power duo will also help the current SD-WAN industry to go to a AI-driven network that optimizes user experience from user-to-cloud as compared to just branch-to-cloud.
128 Technology’s one-of-a-kind networking helps enterprise customers and services to create a client experience-centric system that is simple, secure and efficient for WAN connectivity. Instead of using static network policies that are organized on a per tunnel basis, this technology utilizes real-time user sessions and nimble business policies; costing even less than out-modeled WAN and SD-WAN solutions.
Customers will receive even more advanced AI driven WAN services with the use of Juniper’s WAN Assurance software, the branch SRX portfolio and Marvis™ Virtual Network Assistant, all powered by Mist AI. Some of these services include – proactive anomaly detection, fault isolation with recommended corrective actions, self-driving network operations and AI-driven support, and even initial configuration to ongoing AIOps. This added to Juniper Connected Security, users can enjoy next-gen firewall, zero-trust access, web and content filtering, real-time threat intelligence and advanced threat protection.
Rami Rahim, CEO of Juniper Networks, said, “The acquisition of 128 Technology will enable Juniper to accelerate in a key area where we are seeing enormous success – the AI-driven enterprise. Both companies share a common vision of putting user experiences above all else and leveraging automation with proactive actions to simplify IT operations. With 128 Technology, we are adding a highly differentiated technology into our award-winning arsenal of campus and branch solutions driven by Mist AI to deliver even more customer value while further accelerating Juniper’s continued growth in the enterprise.”
Andy Ory, Co-Founder, and CEO of 128 Technology said, “128 Technology has brought to market a ground-breaking session-based routing solution that gives rise to experience-based networking. This allows our customers to realign their network with the requirements of a digital future that includes cloud, mobility, and virtualization. The combination of our Session Smart Router with Juniper’s AI-driven enterprise portfolio, expansive channel and world-class support will dramatically accelerate our vision to transform networking and make a big impact on a very large, yet still highly under-served, WAN-Edge market.”
